Paint correction for Mercedes-Benz in Houston
Correcting Mercedes paint is slow work because the clear coat is hard.
How we approach a Mercedes-Benz
Correcting Mercedes paint is slow work because the clear coat is hard. Polishes that clear swirls on softer paint barely touch a swirled Obsidian Black S-Class or GLE, so the test spot usually shows a two-step is needed: a firmer cutting pad and compound to level the marring, then a finishing polish to restore clarity. Every panel is measured first, and many cars have a resprayed bumper or door that is much softer than the factory clear, which changes the plan for that panel. Chrome window trim, the star badge and the soft rubber seals are taped before the machine comes out. Older Mercedes from the early 2000s often show tired, dull clear on the roof and trunk after years of Houston sun, and correction is how the color comes back. Magno matte paint is never polished, and gloss AMG carbon trim gets a light finishing polish only. Correction is done at the shop in Katy, followed by a sealant or the long-term coating.
Mercedes-Benz paint
Mercedes clear coat is famously hard, so it resists light marring but takes more work to correct once it is swirled. Obsidian Black, Polar White and Selenite Grey are everywhere, and designo or Manufaktur magno paints are matte.
