Paint correction on a Porsche usually means one of two very different cars. The first is a newer 911, Taycan or Cayenne with wash swirls and a few years of sprinkler spots, where a careful one-step or light two-step brings it back without spending much clear coat. The second is an older car: a 996 or 986 that lived outside, a first-generation Cayenne with a faded roof, or an air-cooled 993 with resprayed panels that read nothing like the factory ones. Every panel is measured before the polisher touches it, and resprays are treated as their own paint. On GT cars and anything with film, the PPF edges are mapped first and the pad stays clear of them. Jet Black and Gentian Blue show holograms if the finishing step is skipped, so those get extra passes with a fine pad. Carbon trim, satin wheels and rubber seals are taped. Correction is done at the shop in Katy and finished with a coating or sealant, depending on how much the car is driven.

Porsche paint is well applied and the clear coat is on the firm side, but dark colors still show marring from careless washing. Bright and special colors, from Guards Red to Paint to Sample shades, are worth protecting because a perfect touch-up match is hard to get.
