An eight-year-old ES or RX in Caviar or Obsidian often carries deep swirls and holograms that hide how good the paint underneath still is. Lexus clear coat responds predictably to polishing and holds the result well, which makes it rewarding to correct. Older LS and GS sedans, and LX and GX trucks with long hoods, have usually taken years of sun on the roof and trunk, and a two-step polish brings back a lot of depth.
