Paint and exterior

A very long hood, wide rear haunches and a low front splitter. Bright colors and magno finishes are common, owners often film the nose, and the four-door's big rear hatch is one wide panel that marks easily.

Interior

Nappa leather or microfiber, carbon trim, and a center console lined with buttons on earlier cars. The low seats make the driver's outer bolster the first part to wear and crease.

Living in Houston

Garaged and driven on dry weekends, an AMG GT still comes back from Hill Country drives with bugs across its nose, and the splitter scrapes on steep driveways.

• Low front splitter: we work on level ground and keeps equipment clear of the nose.
• Exposed carbon fiber: clear-coated carbon is polished like paint; satin carbon is cleaned and protected, never polished.
• Factory matte or satin paint is offered: it is never polished or waxed; it gets matte-safe soap and a matte-specific sealant or coating.
• Often wears PPF or a wrap: film edges get a coating-safe wash, no clay on the film, and the film can be ceramic coated too.
• Alcantara or microsuede: brushed dry, cleaned with a dedicated cleaner on a towel (never sprayed directly), then re-napped.
