How we approach a Audi

Correcting an Audi takes patience rather than aggression. The clear coat is harder than most, so a pad and polish that would finish a softer paint in one pass may need a second step, and the test spot decides the combination before anything else happens. Black, Navarra Blue and the dark grays show holograms under shop lights if the finishing step is rushed, so we finish those down slowly. Older A4s and A6s that have lived outside often carry etched water spots on the roof and trunk lid from sprinklers, and some are deep enough that they can only be reduced, which is said plainly at the test spot. Every panel is measured first, especially on cars that have had body work. Rubber seals, the single-frame grille surround and the textured lower trim on the Q models are taped so polish does not stain them. Correction is done at the shop in Katy and usually finishes with a coating so the work lasts.
