On most Model 3 and Model Y paint a one-step enhancement removes the wash marring and delivery-lot swirls and brings back real gloss without spending much clear coat. Two-step correction is kept for black, midnight silver and deep blue cars that have been through automatic washes. Plastic trim, the glass roof edges and the rubber seals are taped first, and the chrome-delete or factory black trim is protected from polish residue. Correction is done at the shop in Katy and nearly always finishes with a ceramic coating, because soft paint that has just been corrected will marr again quickly without protection.
