Paint and interior on the e-tron GT

Paint and exterior

Long, low panels with sharp creases over the wheel arches and a carbon roof on some cars. Matte finishes were offered and need their own care, and the low nose and rear arches take chips, which is why so many wear PPF.

Interior

Low seats and a deep driving position, with leather-free options in synthetic and microfiber materials. The gloss black around the climate controls and touchscreen collects fingerprints, and the deep footwells hold grit that only comes out with compressed air.

Living in Houston

A low EV kept in a garage in Bellaire or The Woodlands rarely gets truly dirty. What it does get is dust and pollen through the garage door and hard water spots from a quick rinse with the hose.

• Often wears PPF or a wrap: film edges get a coating-safe wash, no clay on the film, and the film can be ceramic coated too.
• Factory matte or satin paint is offered: it is never polished or waxed; it gets matte-safe soap and a matte-specific sealant or coating.
• Exposed carbon fiber: clear-coated carbon is polished like paint; satin carbon is cleaned and protected, never polished.
• Low front splitter: we work on level ground and keeps equipment clear of the nose.
• Electric: there is no engine bay, but the frunk, charge port door and underbody plastics get cleaned, and washing an EV is completely safe.
