How we approach a Cadillac

Cadillac cabins reward a careful hand more than a strong cleaner. Escalade Platinum and Sport Platinum trucks, and the top CT5 and Lyriq trims, use semi-aniline or fine-grain leather that marks if it is scrubbed with an all-purpose product, so we start with a test spot, a pH-balanced cleaner on a soft brush and very little moisture, then a conditioner that leaves no shine. Massaging and ventilated seats have perforations that fill with dust, and that comes out with compressed air before any liquid touches them. The curved OLED display in the Escalade and the wide screens in the Lyriq, Optiq and newer CT5 get a screen-safe product and their own cloth, and piano-black and open-pore wood trim get plush microfiber only. Older DTS, CTS and SRX interiors are a different job: cracked bolsters and dried dashes that need gentle cleaning and a matte UV dressing to slow further damage. Light leather is common across the range, and dye transfer lifts most easily before Houston heat sets it. All of it is done mobile at your home or office.

Cadillac leans on deep black, dark metallics and pearl whites. The clear is reasonably hard, but long dark panels still show wash swirls quickly, and bright trim spots if hard water dries on it.
