Paint and exterior
A small, tightly creased body with a short rear deck. The coupe's long doors and wide rear haunches show swirls clearly in low sun, and red and black cars show them worst.
Interior
Leather or leatherette with contrast stitching, and the CUE touchscreen with touch-sensitive buttons beneath it. The rear seat is tight, so crumbs pile up in the seat creases and footwells.
Living in Houston
Many ATS sedans commute from Cypress or Katy into the city and spend the day under oak trees in office lots, where sap and bird droppings land on the roof and trunk.
- Black and dark colors are common: they show swirls, water spots and pollen film first, and benefit most from a coating.
- Piano-black trim: it scratches if you look at it, so it gets plush microfiber only and can be polished and coated.
- Older plastic headlights yellow in the sun: headlight restoration is an add-on worth asking about.
