Paint and exterior
Forte paint is thin and swirls quickly, and black and silver cars that go through tunnel washes show it on the hood and trunk. The K4 has a sharper body with angular light signatures and a lot of black trim around the windows.
Interior
Cloth on lower trims, SynTex on GT-Line and GT, and a dash with plenty of hard grey plastic. The K4's long twin-screen panel and glossy console trim collect fingerprints and dust.
Living in Houston
Rideshare and student cars rack up miles on the Katy Freeway and in campus garages, and the driver's seat, floor and steering wheel wear first. Summer heat turns spilled soda into sticky floors.
- Soft clear coat: it marks from a dirty towel or an automatic wash, so every wash is two-bucket with clean mitts, and polishing finishes down with a fine pad.
- Cloth seats on many trims: spot-treated in every interior detail, with shampoo extraction as an add-on when they need it.
- Piano-black trim: it scratches if you look at it, so it gets plush microfiber only and can be polished and coated.
