Paint and exterior

A very upright, slab-sided body with a flat roof, pixel-style lights and a lot of sharp edges. The roof is out of reach without a ladder, and the flat hood shows water spots and pollen film clearly on dark colors.

Interior

Six or seven seats, a long dash with a wide screen panel, and recycled or synthetic upholstery. The third row and the flat floor collect crumbs, and the small front trunk still gathers leaves.

Living in Houston

EV9s in Cypress and Katy driveways see sprinkler water on the glass and construction dust on the lower doors. Big flat panels show every water spot after a summer storm.

• Third row and cargo area: both are included, which is why three-row vehicles sit in the larger size class.
• Family hauler: car-seat areas, cupholders and seat rails hold the most crumbs; pet hair is an add-on quoted on the call.
• Synthetic leather: it does not need conditioner, just a gentle cleaner and a matte protectant so it does not go shiny.
• Large touchscreens: cleaned with a screen-safe, ammonia-free product and a dedicated cloth.
• Electric: there is no engine bay, but the frunk, charge port door and underbody plastics get cleaned, and washing an EV is completely safe.
