Plenty of older Jettas and Passats are still doing daily duty too, and those usually need headlights and a full detail more than anything else.
Paint
VW clear coat is on the harder side compared with Korean and Japanese paint, so swirls take more polishing to remove, but the finish holds up well once corrected. Pure White, Deep Black Pearl and the darker greys are common.
Interiors
V-Tex leatherette on many models, cloth on base trims, and leather on top trims, plus plaid cloth in the GTI. Newer VWs use touch sliders and glossy panels that fingerprint easily.
