Long, low roofs that are easy to reach, a big tailgate and, on Cross Country cars, thick black wheel-arch cladding that fades grey. The bright window trim spots from hard water.
Interior
Leather or Nappa in light colors, open-pore wood and a long flat cargo floor that is often full of dog hair. The rear seats fold flat, so the floor seams are brushed out.
Living in Houston
Wagons carry dogs, bikes and beach gear. Sand from Galveston settles in the cargo floor and the tailgate seal, and red mud from Brazos Bend trails collects on the cladding.
