Film edges are cleaned with a soft brush first, because dirt lines along the door and hood edges show badly on orange, white and lime cars. The coating then makes bug splatter from Grand Parkway and Hill Country runs rinse off and keeps the film easier to clean week to week. Bare areas, like the door shuts revealed when the dihedral doors are up, get coated too. The front splitter and the underside of the nose are wiped carefully, since they sit close to the ground and take road grime. Glass and wheel faces are coated in the same visit. The two-year coating can be done in the owner's garage if there is room to raise the doors; the five-to-seven-year coating with correction is done at the shop in Katy.
