Paint and interior on the Versa

Paint and exterior

Thin factory paint on a small body. Bumper corners and door edges carry parking-lot scuffs, and the black plastic around the windows and mirrors fades grey. Light polishing is fine, but heavy cutting is not worth the clear coat it costs.

Interior

Cloth on nearly every Versa, in dark grey or black, plus a hard plastic dash that scuffs from shoes and bags. The folding rear seat on the hatchback and the Versa Note hides grit in the hinge gaps.

Living in Houston

Versas bought for the commute on 59 or Highway 6 rarely get a hand wash, so road tar, brake dust and hard water build up on the lower doors and the plastic wheel covers.

• Cloth seats on many trims: spot-treated in every interior detail, with shampoo extraction as an add-on when they need it.
• Thin factory paint: depth is measured on every panel before a machine touches it, with extra care on edges and body lines.
• Unpainted textured trim: it fades grey in the sun, so it is cleaned and dressed with a matte UV protectant.
• Older plastic headlights yellow in the sun: headlight restoration is an add-on worth asking about.
