Hyundai Venue detailing in Houston

What we watch for

Paint and interior on the Venue

Paint and exterior

Short body, upright glass and a flat roof that is easy to reach. Some trims have a contrasting white or black roof, and the line where the two colors meet holds old wax and dirt. Black plastic around the wheels and bumpers fades quickly in the sun.

Interior

Cloth seats on nearly every Venue, a simple dash in hard plastic, and a small cargo area. Lighter cloth shows spills, so it is spot-treated early. The floor panel over the spare lifts out, and that is where sand and crumbs end up.

Living in Houston

Many Venues are parked outside at apartments and campuses, so the dash plastics bake and the windows collect hard-water spots from sprinklers. The cloth holds heat and soaks up sweat in a Houston summer.

• Cloth seats on many trims: spot-treated in every interior detail, with shampoo extraction as an add-on when they need it.
• Unpainted textured trim: it fades grey in the sun, so it is cleaned and dressed with a matte UV protectant.
• Soft clear coat: it marks from a dirty towel or an automatic wash, so every wash is two-bucket with clean mitts, and polishing finishes down with a fine pad.
