Paint and exterior
The hood and front fenders take the most rock chips and the most bugs, and the vents along the hood collect dust. Most cars wear front PPF, and the long hood is one of the largest single panels to correct on any Ferrari.
Interior
A two-seat cabin with a passenger display, leather or Alcantara and plenty of carbon. The deep center bridge collects dust, and carbon racing seats on some cars scuff at the bolsters.
Living in Houston
An 812 is a highway car, and a run down I-45 to Galveston leaves salt film and love bugs on the nose. Washing it the same day keeps both from etching the paint or the film.
- Often wears PPF or a wrap: film edges get a coating-safe wash, no clay on the film, and the film can be ceramic coated too.
- Exposed carbon fiber: clear-coated carbon is polished like paint; satin carbon is cleaned and protected, never polished.
- Alcantara or microsuede: brushed dry, cleaned with a dedicated cleaner on a towel (never sprayed directly), then re-napped.
