Paint and exterior
The short nose, the flying buttresses and the deep intakes ahead of the rear wheels leave a lot of tight recesses to clean by hand. Reds, blues and greys are the common colors, and many cars are wrapped in clear PPF from new.
Interior
The cabin is built around a digital cluster and a steering wheel with capacitive touch controls, which hold fingerprints and should only see a screen-safe cleaner. Seats are leather or Alcantara, with carbon trim on many cars.
Living in Houston
A 296 kept in a garage in Memorial or The Woodlands still gathers dust under its cover while it sits on the charger. Love bugs picked up on a May drive need to come off the nose within a day.
- Often wears PPF or a wrap: film edges get a coating-safe wash, no clay on the film, and the film can be ceramic coated too.
- Exposed carbon fiber: clear-coated carbon is polished like paint; satin carbon is cleaned and protected, never polished.
- Alcantara or microsuede: brushed dry, cleaned with a dedicated cleaner on a towel (never sprayed directly), then re-napped.
- Low front splitter: we work on level ground and keeps equipment clear of the nose.
