Black is everywhere, followed by Summit White and dark grey. The hood and roof are wide, flat and high, and that is where swirls and oxidation show first. Chrome grilles on LT and Premier versions spot in hard water.
Interior
Cloth on base trims, leather on most others, with second-row captain's chairs or a bench. The cargo area behind the third row is small and fills with sports gear, sand and spilled drinks.
Living in Houston
Tahoes tow pontoons to Lake Conroe, run carpools in Cypress and park outside soccer fields all fall. A summer of sun on the dash and kids in the back seats adds up fast.
- Black and dark colors are common: they show swirls, water spots and pollen film first, and benefit most from a coating.
- Third row and cargo area: both are included, which is why three-row vehicles sit in the larger size class.
- Family hauler: car-seat areas, cupholders and seat rails hold the most crumbs; pet hair is an add-on quoted on the call.
- Tows and hauls: hitch, rear bumper and the lower panels collect road tar and brake dust, so they get iron remover and tar remover.
- Lots of chrome: Houston hard water etches it, so it is dried fully, polished where needed and sealed.

2021 to present · fifth generation
Independent rear suspension, a much bigger third row and a 2025 update with a wide dash screen. High Country and Z71 trims use very different trim finishes.
