The Bi-Tone option pairs a body color with a black upper half, and the line where they meet needs careful taping during polishing. The black half shows swirls and water spots well before the colored half does.

Interior

SofTex or leather, often in lighter or brown tones on Platinum, with a wide gloss-black console and a large screen. The raised seating makes it easy to reach under the front seats.

Living in Houston

Crowns often commute from The Woodlands or Sugar Land into the Galleria and downtown. Office garages keep the sun off, but parking-deck dust and drips from the level above still land on the roof.

• Black and dark colors are common: they show swirls, water spots and pollen film first, and benefit most from a coating.
• Piano-black trim: it scratches if you look at it, so it gets plush microfiber only and can be polished and coated.
