Paint and interior on the LR4

Paint and exterior

Flat, upright panels and a stepped roof with Alpine windows; the roof is easy to forget and often oxidized on older trucks. The gray plastic bumpers and cladding fade quickly in the sun.

Interior

Three rows of seats, plenty of hard plastic and leather that is now often dry and cracked. The LR4 has a nicer dash with wood and softer leather, while the LR3 is more utilitarian.

Living in Houston

Many have spent years parked outside, and some now live on ranch land or a deer lease, so faded trim, red clay and dried mud in the wheel wells are common.

• Third row and cargo area: both are included, which is why three-row vehicles sit in the larger size class.
• Sees dirt roads and lease land: mud is softened and rinsed before any mitt touches the paint, and wheel wells are cleaned out.
• Older plastic headlights yellow in the sun: headlight restoration is an add-on worth asking about.
• Unpainted textured trim: it fades grey in the sun, so it is cleaned and dressed with a matte UV protectant.
