Paint and exterior

Very large flat panels: the hood, roof and liftgate alone take serious time to wash and decontaminate. Dark colors are common, and Grand Wagoneers carry a lot of brightwork that hard water spots.

Interior

Three rows of leather, quilted on Grand Wagoneer trims, with real wood and many screens, including a passenger display and rear screens. Each one needs a screen-safe product and a gentle cloth.

Living in Houston

A Grand Wagoneer that tows a boat to Lake Conroe or makes the drive to a ranch in Brenham comes back with bugs across the wide grille, road dust down the long sides and gravel in the running boards.

• Third row and cargo area: both are included, which is why three-row vehicles sit in the larger size class.
• Nappa or fine-grain leather: cleaned with a pH-balanced leather cleaner and a soft brush, then a non-greasy conditioner.
• Large touchscreens: cleaned with a screen-safe, ammonia-free product and a dedicated cloth.
• Large wheels and tall tires: wheel faces, barrels and wells take real time on this one, and it shows when they are done right.
• Lots of chrome: Houston hard water etches it, so it is dried fully, polished where needed and sealed.
• Tows and hauls: hitch, rear bumper and the lower panels collect road tar and brake dust, so they get iron remover and tar remover.
