BMW i3 detailing in Houston
The i3 was BMW's small electric city car, built around a carbon fiber passenger cell with plastic outer panels and rear-hinged back doors.

Paint and exterior
Most outer panels are plastic, so they do not rust but can fade, and a black band runs over the hood and roof on most cars. Washing is gentle work, with the coach-door jambs opened and wiped.
Interior
Recycled fabrics, exposed natural-fiber door panels and eucalyptus wood trim on some cars. The fiber panels and open-pore wood are cleaned dry or barely damp, because all-purpose cleaners stain them.
- Electric: there is no engine bay, but the frunk, charge port door and underbody plastics get cleaned, and washing an EV is completely safe.
- Unpainted textured trim: it fades grey in the sun, so it is cleaned and dressed with a matte UV protectant.
