BMW 6 Series detailing in Houston
The 6 Series was BMW's big grand tourer, and in Houston most surviving cars are Gran Coupes and convertibles owned by people who care about them.

Paint and exterior
Long, flowing panels under a low roof; the Gran Coupe's frameless doors and long rear deck are where swirls show. Dark blues and greys were popular, and the earlier convertibles have a separate upright glass rear window inside the soft top.
Interior
Leather throughout, often Nappa or full Merino on later cars, with wood or aluminum trim. Long front seats leave a deep gap to the sill where coins, receipts and crumbs collect.
Living in Houston
Many 6 Series are now second cars garaged in Memorial or The Woodlands and driven on weekends. The ones that lived outside have dull clear on the roof and trunk lid.
- Hard clear coat: swirls take more cutting to remove, so correction is slower, but a corrected finish holds up well afterwards.
- Black and dark colors are common: they show swirls, water spots and pollen film first, and benefit most from a coating.
- Nappa or fine-grain leather: cleaned with a pH-balanced leather cleaner and a soft brush, then a non-greasy conditioner.
- Fabric convertible top: cleaned with a top-specific cleaner and protected, with no pressure washer on the seams.
