Soul Red and Machine Gray look deep on the long hood and sculpted doors, but the curves show marring in direct sun. The long, low trunk lid and rear glass collect sprinkler spots.
Interior
Cloth on base trims, leather on most, and Nappa in brown or white on Signature cars along with real wood trim. That light Nappa needs gentle cleaning and regular conditioning in the heat.

Many Mazda6s spend the day in open Energy Corridor office lots, so the roof, hood and dash take the full afternoon sun five days a week.
- Soft clear coat: it marks from a dirty towel or an automatic wash, so every wash is two-bucket with clean mitts, and polishing finishes down with a fine pad.
- Nappa or fine-grain leather: cleaned with a pH-balanced leather cleaner and a soft brush, then a non-greasy conditioner.
- Black and dark colors are common: they show swirls, water spots and pollen film first, and benefit most from a coating.
