Infiniti FX and QX70 detailing in Houston
The FX, renamed QX70 for its final years, is Infiniti's sporty crossover with a long hood, short tail and big wheels, and Houston still has plenty of them.

Paint and exterior
The long, curved hood and front fenders show swirls in sunlight, and black and dark grey were common choices. Chrome mirror and window trim spots from sprinklers, and the big wheels hold heavy brake dust.
Interior
Leather on nearly all of them, with wood or aluminum trim. The cabin is snug, and the steeply raked rear glass lets the sun bake the back seat, which dries out and fades faster than the front.
Living in Houston
An older FX that lived in an open driveway in Richmond or Rosenberg shows it on the hood first: faded clear, yellow headlights and leather gone stiff.
- Black and dark colors are common: they show swirls, water spots and pollen film first, and benefit most from a coating.
- Large wheels and tall tires: wheel faces, barrels and wells take real time on this one, and it shows when they are done right.
- Lots of chrome: Houston hard water etches it, so it is dried fully, polished where needed and sealed.
- Older plastic headlights yellow in the sun: headlight restoration is an add-on worth asking about.
