Paint and exterior
Mostly white, with huge flat sides that show road film, rust streaks from ladder racks and adhesive left by old fleet graphics. Oxidized paint on the roof is common on vans that never see shade.
Interior
Cargo vans have rubber or bare metal floors and vinyl seats; passenger vans have rows of cloth benches with seat tracks full of grit. Conversion vans add wood trim, carpet and captain's chairs.
Living in Houston
A Savana working new subdivisions in Katy carries construction dust inside and out. Passenger vans used for church or school groups need the benches shampooed after a summer of trips.
- Rubber floors and drain plugs on some trims: easy to rinse, but the seams still need brushing to get the grit out.
