Paint and exterior
A taller body with black wheel arch cladding, roof rails and a contrast roof on many cars. The cladding fades, and the roof sits high enough that most home washes skip it.
Interior
Leatherette and cloth, with a sliding rear seat on earlier versions and a much larger cabin on the newest one. The cargo floor and the backs of the rear seats collect dog hair.
Living in Houston
A Countryman coming back from Brazos Bend or the beach has red clay in the wheel arches and sand in the cargo area, and the black cladding greys in the sun.
- Unpainted textured trim: it fades grey in the sun, so it is cleaned and dressed with a matte UV protectant.
- Family hauler: car-seat areas, cupholders and seat rails hold the most crumbs; pet hair is an add-on quoted on the call.
- Synthetic leather: it does not need conditioner, just a gentle cleaner and a matte protectant so it does not go shiny.
- Large glass roof: Houston water leaves mineral spots on it, so it is cleaned inside and out and suits the glass coating add-on.
