Paint and exterior
The first Insight has aluminum body panels and rear wheel skirts that trap dirt behind them. The later cars are conventional steel, with gloss-black trim on the sedan that marks easily.
Interior
Fabric on most trims, leather on the sedan's top trim. The sedan's cabin closely mirrors the tenth-generation Civic, including the glossy console that collects scratches. Older hatchbacks have hard gray plastics that chalk in the sun.
Living in Houston
The sedan is a quiet commuter around Sugar Land and the Galleria. Long days in surface lots fade the dash and rear deck, and pollen collects in the cowl every spring.
- Cloth seats on many trims: spot-treated in every interior detail, with shampoo extraction as an add-on when they need it.
- Piano-black trim: it scratches if you look at it, so it gets plush microfiber only and can be polished and coated.

The Insight is priced as sedan / coupe. Prices are by vehicle size and assume normal condition. Heavy pet hair, sand, mold, smoke or neglected paint is quoted on the call, before anything is booked. No surprises on the day.
