Paint and exterior
A long, smooth fastback with very few creases. Two-tone and dark colors dominate, and the illuminated grille on many cars is cleaned by hand. With no exhaust, the grime gathers on the wheels and lower sills instead.
Interior
Starlight door panels and headliner, soft leathers, an illuminated fascia and rear-hinged doors. The Starlight panels are never soaked, just wiped with a barely damp microfiber so the fiber-optic points stay clear.
Living in Houston
A Spectre charges at home and spends a lot of time in the garage, where dust settles on its long roof. Bug splatter on the front after a highway drive needs to come off quickly.
- Semi-aniline or aniline leather: minimal moisture, no all-purpose cleaners, and a test spot before anything else touches it.
- Lots of chrome: Houston hard water etches it, so it is dried fully, polished where needed and sealed.
- Black and dark colors are common: they show swirls, water spots and pollen film first, and benefit most from a coating.
- Electric: there is no engine bay, but the frunk, charge port door and underbody plastics get cleaned, and washing an EV is completely safe.
