Paint and exterior
Older Lancers in black, red and silver show faded, oxidized clear on the roof and trunk. Evos often carry aftermarket wings, carbon parts and wheels that make washing and drying slower.
Interior
Cloth on most Lancers, leather or Recaro seats on Evos and Ralliarts. The hard plastics scuff and fade, and the Evo's tall seat bolsters wear from getting in and out.
Living in Houston
Most Lancers are older daily drivers parked outside, so yellow headlights and a chalky roof are normal. Evos are usually garaged and only come out on dry days.
- Older plastic headlights yellow in the sun: headlight restoration is an add-on worth asking about.
- Exposed carbon fiber: clear-coated carbon is polished like paint; satin carbon is cleaned and protected, never polished.
- Cloth seats on many trims: spot-treated in every interior detail, with shampoo extraction as an add-on when they need it.
