Paint and exterior

A long, smooth body with a large rear hatch and a roofline that is hard to reach without a step. Pearl white, black and gray are common; the gloss black pillars and roof rails scratch from careless drying.

Interior

Stow 'n Go wells on gas models, rear screens on many, and leather on upper trims. The hybrid's second row does not fold into the floor, so crumbs collect around the seat bases instead of in floor bins.

Living in Houston

School pickup lines, soccer fields at Cinco Ranch and beach days at Surfside all end up inside the van: sand in the third row, sunscreen on the leather and drinks in every cupholder.

• Family hauler: car-seat areas, cupholders and seat rails hold the most crumbs; pet hair is an add-on quoted on the call.
• Third row and cargo area: both are included, which is why three-row vehicles sit in the larger size class.
• Large touchscreens: cleaned with a screen-safe, ammonia-free product and a dedicated cloth.
• Light-colored seats are popular: denim dye transfer and sunscreen stains are cleaned early, before they set in the heat.
